Step 1: Start the Identity Verification Process
To begin your exam, you must first complete the identity verification process. You will be directed to a secure page powered by Stripe to confirm your identity before proceeding with the exam.
Step 2: Scan a Government-Issued ID (required)
You will be prompted to upload a photo of your government-issued photo ID. Common IDs accepted are:
- Passport
- Driver's License
Government-issued photo ID
Ensure the photo is clear, and that all text is readable. Make sure the entire ID is visible in the frame.
Follow any on-screen prompts for how to properly scan the government-issued photo ID.
Step 3: Take a Selfie (required)
You will be asked to take a series of 3 photos of your face to verify that the person submitting the ID is the same as the person in the scanned document.
Make sure you are in a well-lit area, and that your face is clearly visible in the frame. The 3 photos being captured will be taken automatically.
Step 4: Submit Your Information
After uploading your ID and taking your automatic self captured photos, click the Submit button to complete the process. When you submit your documents and the self captured photos, the system will either automatically approve them or send them for manual review by the Certiverse Support team (see Step 5 for additional information).
Step 5: ID Verification: ID Verified, In Verification Progress, ID Verification _____ Pending Review or IS Verification Failed
- ID Verified: Your submitted documents and self captured photos were verified and approved automatically.
- ID Verification In Progress: You are currently in the process of verifying your identification and have yet to submit your documents and self captured photos.
- ID Verification Pending Review: Certiverse Support will review your submission to ensure that everything is accurate and compliant. If the scanned documents and photos captured are acceptable, your exam will be unlocked and ready to launch shortly after review.
- ID Verification Failed:
Support manually reviewed your submitted documents and they were either not legible, compliant, or accurate. You will be required to try again in order to gain access to your exam.
Step 6: Access Your Exam
After your identity has been verified either automatically or manually approved by Certiverse Support, you will be able to continue with your exam. You can check your My Exams dashboard for the ID VERIFIED status of your Pending exam. If you see ID VERIFIED, you may proceed with your launching exam.

Ensure All Text is Readable: Make sure that no part of your ID is damaged, and that the text on your ID is legible.
Ensure Lighting is Appropriate: For best results when verifying your ID, scan your ID and take your selfie in a well-lit room to ensure clarity.
