Item Review Feedback Guide

Item Review Feedback Guide

1.    Purpose

Thank you for responding to feedback regarding an item you wrote. Your item is currently in the review process. A reviewer has reviewed your item and provided feedback for you to consider. Please read the feedback and edit your item as needed.

Note that the review process involves independent reviews from experts like you. Therefore, each question might receive feedback several times. This process helps ensure that exam items are approved by multiple experts and are of the highest quality possible.

2.    Security and Confidentiality

Because these items might be used on an upcoming exam, it is extremely important that you keep the item completely private and unavailable to view by others, including while working on electronic devices such as cell phones.

3.    Process

You can find your items with review feedback in the Certiverse platform’s Authoring Portal, under the “My Items” tab. Your email notification also provides a link to this screen. Click the “Revise” button to view and respond to the feedback.

On-screen instructions help guide you through the review feedback, enabling you to respond and edit your item. The screen will show you the following 3 sections:
  1. Item Preview: A preview of the entire item
  2. Reviewer Feedback: Feedback from the reviewer
  3. Editing pane: The place to edit your item

Reviewer Feedback

  1. In this section, you can see the feedback from the item review, including the review question, reviewer answer, and any reviewer comments.
  2. The total number of issues that the reviewer raised is highlighted.
  3. You can scroll through these issues one at a time to manage them.

Editing Pane

  1. In this section, you can address the reviewer’s comments by editing the specific part of the item that is referenced.
  2. Use the interface to move to the specific part of the item you wish to edit. These item parts include: Question, Correct Answer, Incorrect Answers, Rationales, and Overall.
  3. Edit your item; changes will be automatically updated in the item preview section.
  4. Additional automatic system alerts are provided to assist you with your editing.
