This article assumes you have previously installed Safe Exam Browser

Steps

1. After installation, please take the compatibility test to ensure the Safe Exam Browser is setup correctly. When visiting the link to the test, you will be prompted to Start Set Up Test
   
   
   
   
   Once this is clicked, you will get an alert asking if you wish to allow the Safe Exam Browser to have access to files in your folder. Please select Allow.
   
   
   
   
   
   
2. Once you have completed those steps, you will get an alert that permission is required for screen capture. Please select Authorize. 
   
   
   
   As soon as you select Authorize, you will be moved to your Screen and System Audio Recording settings. You will see the Safe Exam Browser application listed, please click on the slider next to Safe Exam Browser to toggle it on. Once this is on, your device will grant the needed permission for screen sharing. 
   
   
   
   
   
3. Next, you will need to go back to the compatibility test and start the test again. Once you start the test again you will start getting notifications to grant access to microphone and camera. Please select Allow for all, this will ensure the Safe Exam Browser has the required permissions for optimal performance when taking your exam. 
   
   
   
    
   
   
4. Once you have completed this, you can double check permissions are turned on for screen capture, microphone and camera by clicking on the apple icon located at the top left of your screen and selecting System Settings. 5. Once you are in Privacy and Security, scroll down and check one by one to ensure permissions are toggled on. (Camera, screen capture and microphone)
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   

   

   You can always go back to the compatibility test if any permissions are missed. The test will ask for the permissions that are missing, just always select allow. Please keep in mind some permissions might require you to enter a password. Please enter your password used for security. If your device is managed by another organization other than yourself, please contact your computers administrator for further help in granting these permissions or getting the password needed.
